Wednesday Night Alive
The evening of discipleship begins with dinner, served restaurant style at 5:30 - 6pm. After whch, the Cherubs (ages 3-Kindergarten) will journey through the Bible with Carol Mayerhoff, worship the Lord with Denise Eibel and Michelle Gibson, and have a special craft before their time of fellowship with supervised play in the nursery.
The Faith Alive Elementary kids (1st - 5th grade) will being in worship with Miss Denise and Miss Michelle before stepping into the Bible, where they will meet and interact with people from Scripture each week. They will put their faith in action participating in mission projects, and enjoy time together playing games. Every Wednesday will close with a time of prayer.
Adults, you are disciples, too, which means you also get to participate! After dinner, you have your choice of two Small Group tracks 6-6:45 pm:
Holding Your Family Together (6 weeks). No matter your child's age or your family's unique situation, this study is designed to help you build a home where every person feels loved, valued, and heard, opening your hearts to each other and to God.
Worship for the Ages (6 weeks). In this study, we will explore the depth and richness of the Lutheran worship service and how one can share worship with younger generations.
Redeeming Technology: A Christian Approach to Healthy Digital Habits (10 weeks). Americans spend approximately 11 hours per day on social media, in front of a screen or texting friends and family. A Lutheran pastor teamed up with a psychiatrist to develop this study which considers: how all of this media time affects both physical and spiritual well-being, and how one can find a healthy balance of technology while still being focused on Christ.
Marks of a Disciple (6 weeks). This study will look at the six defining characteristics of discipleship: prayer, Bible study, fellowship, worship, witness, giving.
Worship (6 weeks). In this study, we will get into the ins and outs of the Lutheran worship service, what various aspects mean and how the entirety of the service preaches to and teaches the congregation.
The Book of Job (12 weeks). One of the most fascinating books within Scripture, Job raises questions of suffering and evil permitted in this world and God’s relationship to man and creation. This study will dive deep into Job and the questions surrounding his trial and tribulations.
