Good morning and a blessed Thursday to you. It’s time for Vacation Bible School. This Sunday, June 5th, we are going to launch our week of sharing Jesus with not only the kids of our congregation and their friends, but kids in this community. We get the opportunity to introduce them to Jesus, and to God’s love.

The overall theme for this year’s VBS is “Monumental: Celebrating God’s Greatness”.   One of the theme verses is Psalm 89:2

David writes:

I declare that your steadfast love is established for ever;

    your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.

What a wonderful word that we get to share with our children this weekend, and with their friends! God is steadfast in his love, and he is firm in his love. Nothing shakes God's love.  And as Paul writes, nothing can separate us from the love that we have in Christ. What a wonderful word for all of us.  There are times when we all feel defeated, overwhelmed, or saddened. We can always turn to God's Word, over and over again, to realize that his love is not conditional.  His love is established forever, which means that it was established before time.  It was established before creation, and it remains throughout all eternity. God's love is pure.  It is whole.  It is complete. God's love is for you.  We know this because God sent his only Son to die upon the cross, to take our sin from us, and to give us complete righteousness through his own grace and mercy. We know this to be true because Jesus rose from the grave, triumphant over our sin, and triumphant over death.

I cannot wait for this coming week, where we get to share this wonderful news with the kids.

 Let’s pray:  Lord, we thank you so much for your steadfast love. We thank you that this church has been built upon the foundation and the firmness of your love through Jesus Christ.  Lord, we ask that you would bless this upcoming week of VBS, that we would be able to introduce kids to you, through your Word proclaimed through us.  Pour out your love upon all the kids, as they hear “monumental” good news of life in you.  Lord, we lift all of this to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I look forward to worshiping with you, and sharing this good news with you on Sunday. God bless!
